ABOUT US

The Whitchurch-Stouffville Legacy Fund (WSLF) was created to help support the financial needs and efforts of local charities, service groups and community organizations who work to enrich the lives of Whitchurch-Stouffville residents. 

The WSLF is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors who are apolitical and review and grant applications exclusively based on the merits of the applications received. There are three intakes per year. (February, June and October.)

Additionally, the WSLF hosts the annual #ForStouffville Gala 

where the winners of the Community Impact Awards are announced. 

To be eligible for funding, applicants must demonstrate 

community impact in one of six categories:

Health & Well-Being
Promotes physical and mental health, with a focus on wellness,

preventative care, and community well-being.

Environmental Sustainability
Advances environmental conservation, climate resilience and social sustainability, ensuring the long-term ecological health of our community.

Prosperity & Economic Development
Efforts that drive economic growth while ensuring equitable opportunities for all residents, including skills development and local business support.

Inclusive Community Connections
Fosters social cohesion and inclusivity by connecting individuals and groups, bridging the digital divide, and ensuring equal access to community engagement for all residents.

 Creative Arts & Innovation
Promotes creativity and innovation through arts, culture, and technology, supporting both traditional and emerging creative industries that enrich the community and drive social change. 

Generational Engagement & Support
Encourages intergenerational programming and provides support for individuals of all ages, with a focus on youth mentorship, senior services, and fostering meaningful connections across generations.
